A Yarn Packer's primary responsibility is to prepare yarn packages for shipping by ensuring they are properly packaged, labeled, and protected from damage. This involves tasks such as wrapping or boxing yarn, comparing labels, and maintaining a clean work area. They also play a role in quality control by inspecting yarn for defects and ensuring accurate labeling. Key Responsibilities:
- Packing:Securely wrapping or boxing yarn packages to protect them from contamination and damage.
- Labeling:Accurately labeling packages according to specifications, including lot numbers, cone counts, and other relevant information.
- Quality Control:Inspecting yarn packages for defects, such as wild yarn, tails, or other issues, and removing non-conforming packages.
- Documentation:Ensuring accurate records of yarn packages, including lot numbers, counts, and other relevant details.
- Material Handling:Transporting yarn cases and pallets, potentially using equipment like forklifts or pallet jacks, and maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Safety Compliance:Adhering to all safety procedures and regulations related to handling and packaging materials.
- Teamwork:Collaborating with team members to prioritize tasks and meet production goals.
- Equipment Operation:Operating equipment like pallet wrappers, palletizers, and other machinery as needed.
- Other Duties:Performing other duties as assigned by supervisors.
