Position Summary:
The Ward Incharge is the operational and clinical leader for their assigned unit. This role is responsible for the daily management of nursing staff, patient flow, and ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care on the front lines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate all daily nursing activities and staff on the ward.
- Ensure excellent patient care standards and compliance with hospital policies.
- Manage patient admissions, discharges, and transfers to maintain smooth unit flow.
- Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs).
- Handle immediate patient and family concerns and escalate issues as needed.
- Monitor staff schedules, assignments, and overtime to ensure safe staffing levels.
- Assist in auditing quality measures and implementing improvement plans.
Qualifications:
- Required: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
- Required: 5+ years of experience, Minimum 2-3 Years of experience as a ward incharge.
- Strong clinical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent team leadership and communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
