Seeking a junior–mid UI/UX Designer to craft intuitive, data‑dense web interfaces for diverse tech stacks. The role emphasizes wireframing, prototyping, and iterative usability improvements that reduce time‑to‑insight, support time‑constrained operations, and deliver clarity for mission‑critical workflows. This is a hands-on role partnering closely with developers, product managers, project managers and the business teams.
Job description
- Own end‑to‑end design for prioritized web workflows: discovery, task flows, wireframes, low/high‑fidelity UI, interactive prototypes, and dev‑ready specs.
- Translate complex telemetry and analysis needs into clear dashboards, drill‑downs, and alerting patterns optimized for rapid comprehension.
- Conduct pragmatic research: stakeholder interviews, task analyses, lightweight usability tests, and synthesizing findings into actionable recommendations.
- Evolve information architecture for data-heavy products: navigation, labeling, filtering, sorting, and progressive disclosure for dense content.
- Define and maintain components, styles, and tokens within a design system; collaborate with engineering for consistent implementation across varied front‑end stacks.
- Document decisions with annotations, user stories, acceptance criteria, and change logs to enable smooth delivery.
- Support adjacent UI/UX needs for other departments (internal dashboards, BD presentations, and admin tooling) while maintaining pattern consistency.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of professional UI/UX experience (or equivalent portfolio) with web applications - ideally data‑rich, operational, analytics, or B2B tools.
- Strong wireframing and prototyping skills; speed and craft across low‑fi to high‑fi and interactive prototypes.
- Foundations in UX research methods and the ability to convert insights into clear IA, flows, and UI.
- Comfort creating or contributing to design systems and working alongside developers across varied front‑end stacks.
- Working knowledge of accessibility, error prevention/recovery, and designing for time‑critical user scenarios.
- Clear communication of design rationale, tradeoffs, and prioritization to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Portfolio with 2–3 case studies showing process, alternatives, and outcomes (not just final screens).
- Experience with real‑time dashboards, time‑series data, or alerting/monitoring interfaces.
- Familiarity with data visualization patterns, mapping/geospatial, or dense table design.
- Awareness of front‑end concepts (HTML/CSS, React, TypeScript) and design tokens.
- Exposure to experimentation and UX metrics (e.g., task success, time‑on‑task, error rate).
- Product design and handoff: Figma (components, Auto Layout, variables/tokens), FigJam for workshops.
- Prototyping and motion: Figma Prototyping; ProtoPie or Principle for advanced interactions when needed.
- Collaboration: Open Projects, GitLab, Slack, Notion/Confluence; version control of tokens/components alongside engineering as needed.
