Purpose of Job
This position will provide technical support to employees in the Evanston Office and in other locations. This role is responsible for tracking all incidents to completion, building new PC’s and training employees on the use of connectivity software in a Windows environment.
Secondarily this role will also assist with infrastructure maintenance and enhancements as skills permit with our state-of- the-art technology. This includes support and maintenance of our virtual environment, tiered storage, and backup infrastructure; such as backup and replication maintenance, file recovery and enhancements. On occasion, this will require some flexibility of working hours, which are normally 8:30am to 5:30pm.
We'll trust you to:
- Monitors and tracks incidents to provide quality and timely technical support to our headquarter employees and satellite offices.
- Provides routine support for end user with IT-related issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Answers, evaluates and prioritizes incoming ticket requests for IT service in a professional, courteous manner.
- Troubleshoots and repairs computer systems and peripheral equipment.
- Performs basic computer hardware and software installations.
- Trains users on connectivity software.
- Assists with infrastructure maintenance and enhancements as skills permit.
- Monitors and maintains backup & replication jobs and file recovery as needed.
- Monitors and troubleshoots system health; adjusts volumes and VMs as needed.
- Appropriately escalates unsolved issues to the appropriate internal team
- Provides infrastructure enhancements such as software & hardware upgrades, performance tuning, etc.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
You'll need to have:
- Bachelor degree in technical related field or equivalent work experience.
- Familiarity with Active Directory and Windows security/administration.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Candidate must be able to lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds.

- CompTIA A+, Network+, and/or Security+ certification preferred.
- Physical / Virtual Server environments (ESXi / VMware)
- Storage area networks (PowerStore/PowerScale)
- Backup / Disaster Recovery (PPDM, DataDomain or equivalent)
- Ticketing system (KACE 1000)
- Windows Imaging/Scripting (K2000)
- Microsoft operating systems (Windows 10/Servers)
- Office products including Office365
- Networking component/experience preferred (Switches, Appliances, Firewalls)
