We are seeking a skilled and experienced Tandoor Cook to prepare authentic and high-quality dishes using traditional tandoor ovens. The ideal candidate should be proficient in marinating meats, grilling tandoori items, and baking breads such as naan, roti, and kulcha. A deep understanding of Indian spices and cooking techniques is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook tandoori dishes including kebabs, chicken tikka, paneer tikka, and seafood.
- Bake tandoori breads such as naan, roti, and stuffed kulchas.
- Ensure the tandoor is maintained at optimal temperature for consistent cooking.
- Marinate meats and vegetables using traditional Indian spices and recipes.
- Monitor food quality and presentation standards.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and kitchen safety regulations.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient meal preparation.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper functioning of the tandoor and kitchen equipment.
- Keep inventory of tandoor ingredients and report shortages.
- Adapt to special dietary or allergy-related food preparations as needed.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Tandoor Cook in a professional kitchen.
- Knowledge of traditional Indian cooking techniques and spices.
- Ability to operate and maintain a clay tandoor oven.
- Strong sense of taste and attention to food presentation.
- Good physical stamina and ability to work in a hot environment.
- Basic understanding of kitchen health and safety standards.
- Team player with good communication skills.
