We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Sustainable Agriculture Coordinator to develop, implement, and promote environmentally responsible farming practices. The ideal candidate will work closely with farmers, agri-tech teams, and local communities to ensure agricultural productivity while preserving ecological balance and resource efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement sustainable farming models suited to local conditions
- Train and educate farmers on eco-friendly practices (e.g., organic farming, crop rotation, natural pest control, water conservation)
- Monitor soil health, water use, and biodiversity practices on farms
- Collaborate with agri-input providers to ensure use of natural or minimal-impact inputs
- Promote regenerative agriculture and climate-resilient techniques
- Coordinate field visits, workshops, and demonstrations for farmer outreach
- Work with internal teams to align sustainability efforts with production goals
- Document practices, success stories, and challenges for continuous improvement
- Stay updated on government schemes, certifications (e.g., organic, GAP), and eco-labels
- Prepare reports on environmental impact and productivity improvements
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Agriculture, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or related field
- Experience in farming systems, sustainable practices, or rural development (1–3 years preferred)
- Good communication skills for farmer engagement and training
- Strong knowledge of organic standards, soil and water conservation, and agri-policy
- Ability to manage projects, field data, and multi-stakeholder coordination
- Willingness to travel to rural/farm locations regularly
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of natural farming, permaculture, or integrated farming systems
- Experience with agri-tech tools, GPS, sensors, or mobile farming apps
- Proficiency in local language(s) for farmer interaction
- Familiarity with reporting tools like Excel, Google Sheets, or basic GIS mapping
