We at the Ads Team  We at Ads Product are all about making Ads more meaningful & relevant to our users and help drive marketing objectives for our partners/advertisers. Ads is one of the primary ways Truecaller monetizes the APP, and thus holds a critical role in driving Truecaller revenues. Our scale boasts about:  ~7 BN impressions (globally) per day, thus making Truecaller one of the largest standalone publishers in India and emerging markets like Egypt, North Africa etc.Data is at the heart of everything we do. As a  Staff Data Analyst We are looking for an exceptional Staff Data Analyst to join our growing Data & Analytics team. In this pivotal role, you will be a trusted advisor, providing high-quality, rigorous analyses and strategic insights to our Ads Business Unit (ADs BU) leaders, Product leaders, and the Truecaller C-suite. Your work will directly enable data-led decision-making across the organization, shaping the future of Truecaller.This is a highly collaborative role where you will bridge the gap between data, product, and business. You'll work closely with data producers (engineering, data science), data consumers (marketing, business development), and product teams to translate complex data into actionable recommendations.

You will also be instrumental in coaching and mentoring more junior data scientists. Making sure that they understand what they need to do to excel, and also occasionally helping them out with hands-on work.

What you bring in: 

• 8+ years of experience in a data analyst or similar role, with a strong track record of delivering impactful data-driven insights in a fast-paced, product-led environment.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex problems, identify key drivers, and synthesize information into clear recommendations.
• Expert proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
• Strong experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI, QlikSense) and the ability to create compelling dashboards and reports.
• Proficient in statistical analysis and experimental design (A/B testing), with a solid understanding of statistical significance and common pitfalls.
• Experience with a scripting language for data analysis and automation is a significant plus.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex analytical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.
• Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive decision-making through data.
• Self-starter with a proactive approach, able to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience in the advertising technology (AdTech) or mobile app industry is a strong advantage.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline.

What you will do to create impact:

• Strategic Analysis: Lead end-to-end data analysis projects, from problem definition and hypothesis generation to data extraction, manipulation, statistical modeling, and visualization, to answer critical business questions and identify growth opportunities.
• Influence & Advise: Deliver compelling, data-driven insights and recommendations to senior leadership (Ads BU, Product, C-suite), influencing strategic decisions and product roadmaps.
• Deep Dive Investigations: Proactively identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities in large, complex datasets, conducting deep-dive investigations to uncover root causes and provide actionable solutions. You also play an important role during investigation of various issues.
• KPI Definition & Tracking: Collaborate with stakeholders to define, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics that accurately reflect business performance and product health.
• A/B Testing & Experimentation: Design, execute, and analyze A/B tests and other experiments to measure the impact of product changes and new features, providing clear recommendations for iteration and launch.
• Data Storytelling: Translate complex analytical findings into clear, concise, and engaging narratives and presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Build strong relationships with product managers, engineers, data scientists, and business leaders, acting as a bridge between data and decision-makers.
• Mentorship & Best Practices: Contribute to the growth of the data analysis function by mentoring junior analysts and promoting best practices in data analysis, data quality, and documentation.
• Data Infrastructure & Tools: Work with data engineering teams to improve data accessibility, reliability, and the development of scalable data solutions.

It would be great if you also have:

• Big data query tools (we use BigQuery).
• Experience with a scripting language (e.g., Python) for data analysis and automation.
• Experience with data from mobile applications.
• Experience with dashboarding tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker (we use Looker)
