Role Overview
The Special Educator will be responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs. The role focuses on creating an inclusive classroom environment, supporting teachers in differentiation, and ensuring that all learners receive equitable opportunities to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Student Support
- Identify students with special educational needs through screening, assessment, and teacher/parent referrals.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s strengths and challenges.
- Provide direct intervention, remediation, and counseling support to students.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Special Education (RCI registered) or equivalent qualification in Inclusive Education.
- Knowledge of learning disabilities, developmental delays, autism spectrum, ADHD, and other special needs.
- Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and inclusive classroom strategies.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and record-keeping skills.
- Empathy, patience, and a child-centric approach.
Preferred Experience
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Special Educator in a school setting.
- Experience in conducting teacher training and parent workshops.
- Familiarity with CBSE/IB/ICSE inclusive education norms.
