1. Assessment and Planning
- Conduct educational and developmental assessments for children with learning disabilities, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability, and other special needs.
- Collaborate with clinical psychologists to prepare Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each child’s strengths and challenges.
- Regularly review and update IEPs based on progress and feedback from therapists, parents, and teachers.
2. Remedial and Therapeutic Teaching
- Provide remedial education in areas like reading, writing, mathematics, and communication skills.
- Use evidence-based methods (multisensory learning, phonics, play therapy integration, task analysis, etc.) to enhance learning outcomes.
- Support children in developing life skills, attention, memory strategies, and problem-solving techniques.
3. Collaboration with Clinical Team
- Work closely with psychologists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and pediatricians to ensure a holistic approach.
- Share progress notes and participate in multidisciplinary case discussions.
- Integrate therapeutic recommendations (from OT, speech therapy, CBT, etc.) into classroom or clinic-based teaching sessions.
4. Parent and Teacher Support
- Counsel and guide parents on home-based learning strategies, behavior management, and skill reinforcement.
- Conduct parent training workshops to build awareness and empower families.
- Coordinate with schools to ensure continuity of care and provide recommendations for classroom accommodations.
5. Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain detailed records of student progress, therapy integration, and IEP reviews.
- Prepare reports for clinical reviews, medico-legal needs, or academic referrals.
- Assist in research and data collection for clinical studies or outcome tracking.
6. Advocacy and Awareness
- Educate parents, schools, and community stakeholders about learning disabilities and inclusivity.
- Advocate for the rights and educational needs of children with special requirements.
- Contribute to awareness programs and social initiatives of the clinic.
7. Professional Development
- Stay updated with new interventions, teaching aids, and legal frameworks (like RPwD Act in India).
- Participate in continuous training and workshops to enhance clinical-educational integration.
