Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate, dynamic, and experienced Social Teacher - Secondary to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will inspire young learners (Grades 6-10) to develop a profound understanding of history, geography, civics, and environmental studies. You will create an engaging and interactive classroom environment that encourages critical thinking, curiosity, and a lifelong appreciation for the world around them.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum & Instruction:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and age-appropriate Social Science lessons aligned with the CBSE.
- Utilize diverse teaching methodologies, including storytelling, debates, role-playing, projects, and educational technology to foster active learning.
- Differentiate instruction to cater to varied learning styles and abilities within the classroom.
- Student Development:
- Inspire curiosity and critical thinking about societal structures, historical events, geographical concepts, and civic responsibilities.
- Foster empathy, cultural awareness, and respect for diversity among students.
- Encourage student participation in discussions, research, and collaborative projects.
- Assessment & Feedback:
- Regularly assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive and timely feedback.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
- Classroom Management:
- Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment that promotes learning and respect.
- Address student behavior effectively and promote a sense of responsibility.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, school administration, and parents/guardians to support student well-being and academic success.
- Participate actively in school events, professional development programs, and faculty meetings.
- Beyond the Classroom:
- Organize and supervise educational field trips, projects, and extracurricular activities related to Social Science.
- Contribute to the overall positive ethos and culture of the school.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Educational Background:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Science (History, Geography, Political Science, Sociology, Economics) or a related field.
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from a recognized university is mandatory.
