We are looking for a skilled professional to deploy, configure, and maintain high-capacity DWDM and OTN networks across long-haul, metro, and regional segments. The candidate should have strong expertise in optical transport technologies, hands-on experience with Nokia 1830 PSS platforms, and be proficient in testing, troubleshooting, and supporting large-scale network infrastructures.
- Deploy, configure, and support large-scale DWDM & OTN optical networks across ULH, metro, and regional links interconnecting data centers and POPs across India.
- Create and maintain Engineering Design Packages for DWDM rings/systems, including Methods of Procedures (MoPs) and network documentation.
- Perform network turn-up, provisioning, testing, and commissioning using tools like OTDR, power meters, BERT, and PMD/CD analyzers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network build issues independently, including component isolation, replacement, and optical performance verification.
- Conduct network maintenance, upgrades, and repair activities, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
- Provide technical guidance to field installation teams during powering, design validation, and new product integrations.
- Lead and execute product demos, PoCs, type approvals, and field trials for new solutions, ensuring successful customer validation and acceptance.
- Train internal delivery teams and create system support documentation, including test plans, functional flows, and provisioning guides.
You have:
- Hands-on experience deploying, configuring, and maintaining DWDM & OTN networks in large-scale, multi-site environments.
- Strong understanding of optical transport technologies, including GMPLS (ASON, Layer 0/1), MPLS-TP, SDH, and Layer 2 Ethernet.
- Expertise with fiber optics transmission tools and techniques, including OTDR, power meters, BERT, CD/PMD analyzers.
- Experience in design validation, provisioning, commissioning, and network troubleshooting across Nokia DWDM platforms (1830 PSS series).
- Ability to create and manage Engineering Design Packages, Methods of Procedures (MoPs), and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with optical components and architecture, including RAMAN, EDFA, WSS, Flexgrid, and CDC configurations.
It would be nice if you also had:
- Experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) activities such as PoCs, type approvals, and field trials.
- Working knowledge of monitoring and logging systems to support proactive network health checks and outage responses.
