Position Summary
An Editor works on scripting files in its creation, as well as revising files done at creation, formatting, editing, and proofreading the file to ensure it is error free before it is ready for dubbing artists. Ensuring 100% on-time delivery, while also maintaining the department's Quality target.
Outcomes and Accomplishments
As a Scripting Editor, you will:
- Ensure the quality of files is consistently high, and is accurate with regards to audio fidelity, timing, and other finer guidelines that need to be followed for the format.
- Creating English files, as well as correcting all errors while proofing a file and ensuring the file is checked against reference materials related to the project, conforms to department guidelines and/or client specifications, and the final product is consistent and error-free.
- Footnoting and annotating cultural references and expressions as an aid to dubbing artists.
- Adhering to deadlines for all assignments.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with supervisors and coordinators regarding the status of work as well as reporting problems as soon as they occur.
- Follow department-specific schedules and guidelines and demonstrate adherence to the schedule.
- Actively participate in all job / personal knowledge training programs.
- Comply with all administrative procedures including Workday compliance.
- Other duties as assigned by the Lead.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor of Arts degree in English, Translation, Creative Writing, Communications, or relevant equivalent experience.
- 1-2 years of experience transcribing or QCing English subtitles and captions is an asset.
- Excellent command of professional English and communication skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with an attention to detail.
- Very good research skills and have vast general knowledge.
- Be extremely resourceful with a good ability to work independently.
- Possess the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with internal as well as external stakeholders.
- Possess the ability to troubleshoot and effectively escalate any concerns.
- Be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities or sudden changes in workflow.
- Possess the ability to engage with culturally diverse and distributed teams.
- Experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
