Revenue Associate
The Revenue Associate at NIQ will be part of the Global Finance Operations – within our Global Billing team, focusing on the meticulous administration, evaluation, and validation of sales contracts to facilitate revenue recognition and establish billing schedules in accordance with both global and regional protocols. Collaborating closely with Client Service teams, this position ensures adherence to US GAAP and statutory regulations throughout all stages of billing and revenue processes, including comprehensive period closing and meticulous reconciliations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, possessing a profound grasp of revenue recognition principles, and exhibit proficient collaboration skills to foster operational efficiency and maintain NIQ's financial integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Revenue Accounting: Oversee accurate revenue reporting and journal entries, manage closing activities like accruals, provisions, and reconciliations in compliance with US-GAAP/Stat rules, and ensure timely financial closings.
- Financial & Regulatory Reporting: Ensure regional compliance with statutory requirements related to revenue accounting; coordinate with operational controllers for regulatory filings and tax compliance.
- Customer Billing: Oversee the management of unbilled receivables and approve adjustments in compliance with local VAT laws.
- Contract Processing: Collaborate with internal teams to guarantee accurate revenue recognition and provide guidance on contract variations.
- Compliance & Controls: Maintain stringent controls over revenue processes and balance sheets, addressing any control discrepancies.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Client Services and Finance teams to support sales proposals, clarify financial rules, and provide training on revenue-related matters.
- Regulatory Filing: Complete the necessary documentation for filing forms, obtaining certification of residency for POC clients
- Inquiry Support & Audit Support: Assist with various internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to standards and developing mitigation plans for any identified deficiencies.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent qualification preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in finance operations, specifically in revenue accounting and recognition.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of US-GAAP, statutory regulations, and financial reporting requirements. Knowledge in financial systems such as SAP, MSD, Onestream
- Leadership Abilities: Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to manage and develop a team.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with multiple stakeholders across different functions and regions. Ability to collaborate effectively across various departments.
- Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and proficiency in managing complex financial processes.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data and extract meaningful insights.
- Detail-Oriented: High attention to detail and an ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with an aptitude for implementing robust controls and compliance measures.
