Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Remote IT Service & Technician to handle all aspects of IT services, including sales support, after-sales support, troubleshooting, installations, and system configurations. The role requires a proactive individual who can manage diverse IT needs remotely, ensure smooth business operations, and provide efficient technical support to clients. The candidate will be responsible for managing hardware, software, networking, and application-level IT operations across multiple environments. This position is crucial for ensuring uninterrupted IT services and delivering a professional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales & After-Sales Support - Provide pre-sales technical support for IT products and services. - Assist clients with solution design and configuration before purchase. - Deliver after-sales installation, configuration, and troubleshooting support. - Train end-users on basic system usage where required. 2. Application & Software Management - Installation and configuration of Tally ERP/Cloud applications. - Microsoft Office 365/Exchange/Outlook email setup & migration. - Installation and licensing of operating systems and business software. - Configuration and maintenance of security applications (antivirus, endpoint protection, firewall clients). - Knowledge of remote support tools (AnyDesk, TeamViewer, RDP, VPN, etc.). 3. System Management - Installation and reinstallation of Windows OS (all supported versions). - PC and laptop formatting, partitioning, and driver installations.
- Backup and recovery of files and system images. - System health checks, performance tuning, and resource optimization. - Debugging and resolving OS/application crashes or errors. 4. Networking & Infrastructure - Setup and configuration of Routers, Switches, Access Points (Ruijie, Zycoo, and other brands). - Basic firewall configuration and troubleshooting. - LAN/WAN setup, IP allocation, DHCP/DNS configuration. - VPN setup and secure remote access configuration. - Network monitoring, issue detection, and debugging connectivity issues. 5. Hardware & Peripheral Management - Remote support for printer setup, scanner integration, and drivers. - Troubleshooting of hardware issues (basic level remotely, advanced through vendor coordination). - Ensuring hardware compatibility with software and networking systems. 6. Security & Compliance - Implementing and maintaining security measures (password policies, access control, 2FA, etc.). - Monitoring endpoints and servers for unusual activities. - Regular patch management and updates for OS and software. - Assisting with IT audit readiness and compliance requirements. 7. Documentation & Reporting - Maintain detailed logs of support requests, resolutions, and escalations. - Create and update knowledge base documentation for recurring issues. - Report daily/weekly tasks and pending issues to management. - Maintain asset inventory for software licenses, hardware, and configurations. 8. Miscellaneous IT & Technical Work - Assist with VoIP/telephony setup (including Zycoo PBX configuration). - Support for cloud services (Google Workspace, OneDrive, SharePoint, etc.). - Assist in procurement planning (recommending IT hardware/software). - Basic website/hosting/email DNS troubleshooting. - Provide remote training for staff on IT best practices and tools.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, installation, and troubleshooting. - Proficiency in Tally ERP/Cloud solutions. - Hands-on experience with Microsoft Office 365 / Exchange / Outlook. - Practical knowledge of networking devices (Zycoo, Ruijie, Cisco, Mikrotik, etc.).
- Familiarity with IT monitoring and management tools. - Strong problem-solving and debugging skills. - Ability to multitask and handle multiple client environments remotely. - Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). - Self-driven, reliable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree/diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (preferred but not mandatory). - Minimum 3+ years of experience in IT support or system/network administration. - Certifications are an advantage
Work Conditions
- Fully remote work. - Candidate must ensure stable internet connectivity and availability during UAE working hours (9 AM – 7 PM). - Availability for urgent support requests outside standard hours (on-call flexibility preferred).
Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Response time to tickets and support requests. - Resolution time for IT issues. - Client satisfaction scores. - System uptime and minimal downtime. - Accuracy and completeness of documentation.
