Key Responsibilities:
1. Sourcing and Vendor Management:
- Identify potential suppliers and vendors based on quality, price, and delivery capabilities.
- Evaluate and select vendors through competitive bidding and negotiation processes.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and manage vendor performance.
2. Purchase Order Processing:
- Generate purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ensure adherence to procurement policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to confirm purchase requirements and specifications.
3. Price Negotiation and Cost Management:
- Negotiate favorable terms and pricing with suppliers to achieve cost savings.
- Monitor market trends and conduct price analysis to identify opportunities for cost reduction.
- Review and approve invoices and resolve discrepancies with suppliers.
4. Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels and track stock movements.
- Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure timely receipt and delivery of goods.
- Implement inventory control measures to minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
5. Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that purchased products and materials meet quality standards and specifications.
- Collaborate with quality control teams to resolve quality issues with suppliers.
- Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
6. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of purchase transactions, contracts, and agreements.
- Prepare and analyze procurement reports to track spending and performance metrics.
- Assist in the development of procurement policies, procedures, and guidelines.
7. Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement activities.
- Identify and mitigate procurement risks, such as supply chain disruptions and supplier failures.
- Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends in procurement.
Requirements and skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to build relationships with suppliers
