Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and evaluate reliable suppliers for raw materials such as paper, covers, binding material, ink, and packaging.
- Negotiate with vendors for best pricing, quality, and delivery timelines.
- Prepare purchase orders and ensure timely procurement to avoid production delays.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the production team for material planning.
- Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships for long-term partnerships.
- Track purchase budgets, cost savings, and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Follow up with suppliers on order status, delivery schedules, and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate purchase records, agreements, and vendor database.
- Work closely with accounts for payment processing and with production for material quality checks.
- Regularly analyze market trends, pricing, and new suppliers for cost optimization.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Knowledge of raw materials used in diary/stationery manufacturing.
- Good understanding of supply chain, procurement, and vendor management.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP, or purchase management systems.
- Analytical thinking with attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple suppliers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce / Supply Chain / Business Administration (preferred).
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in procurement (manufacturing industry experience preferred).
