The Program Officer (PO) will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of the Manyata 5.0 initiative. Working under the guidance of project lead, the PO will assist in coordinating with key national bodies like NABH and NHA, support program delivery in assigned states, and ensure the smooth execution of project activities. This role is focused on on-the-ground implementation, coordination, and reporting to help improve the quality of care for mothers and newborns.
Responsibilities
- Stakeholder & Partner Coordination
- Support the project lead in coordinating with the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH), the National Health Authority (NHA), and the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM).
- Assist in organizing and scheduling coordination meetings with partners such as FOGSI, MSD for Mothers, and Centers of Skills Enhancement (CSEs).
- Document meeting minutes and track the follow-up on action items to ensure tasks are completed.
- Program Implementation & Quality Assurance
- Support the implementation of Manyata 5.0 activities in assigned areas, ensuring tasks are aligned with work plans and timelines.
- Provide on-ground support to facility mentors and assist in troubleshooting day-to-day implementation challenges.
- Assist in monitoring program activities to contribute to continuous quality improvement.
- Data Management & Reporting
- Assist in the data collection and coordination required for integrating facility data with ABDM-compliant systems.
- Ensure the accurate and timely capture of program data for analysis and prepare high-quality monthly and quarterly reports for review.
- Ensure timely and comprehensive documentation of all project activities and outcomes.
- Capacity Building & Technical Support
- Coordinate the logistics for and support the delivery of training sessions on obstetric/newborn care standards and NABH processes.
- Assist in the dissemination of quality-improvement tools and information on accreditation requirements to project staff and partners.
- Monitoring & Evaluation
- Work closely with the M&E team to track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the project.
- Assist in conducting data-quality audits and documenting lessons learned from program implementation.
- Support the team in preparing for external evaluations and NABH assessments of participating healthcare facilities.
- Travel
- Ability to travel to healthcare facilities and state capitals up to 30-40% of the time.

Required Qualifications
- 2-4 years of experience working in public health programs, preferably in maternal and newborn health or quality of care initiatives.
- Graduate degree in Medicine, Nursing, or Alternative Medicine (MBBS/BAMS/BDS/BNYS). A Master of Public Health (MPH) is desirable.
- MBBS with MD (Obstetrics & Gynecology / Community Medicine / Hospital Administration) or Master of Public Health (MPH) from a recognized institution is preferred.
- 2-4 years of experience working in public health programs, preferably in maternal and newborn health or quality of care initiatives.
- Familiarity with the Indian health system and government health programs (e.g., NHM) is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with government health programs especially maternal and child health, coordinating with multiple stakeholders including government counterparts
- Good project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both
- English and Hindi.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for data management and reporting.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
