We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of our pharmacy. The ideal candidate will assist the pharmacist in dispensing medications, managing inventory, handling customer inquiries, and ensuring the smooth running of the pharmacy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) medications.
- Provide information to customers under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Accurately label, package, and store medications.
- Maintain and update patient records and prescription files.
- Manage inventory: receive, stock, and organize pharmaceutical supplies.
- Check stock levels and expiry dates, and notify the pharmacist of shortages or discrepancies.
- Handle customer transactions using the POS system and process payments.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy area.
- Comply with all health and safety regulations and pharmacy policies.
- Support in administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and answering phone calls.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a pharmacy assistant or in a retail/customer service role is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of pharmacy operations and medical terminology is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using computers and pharmacy software (if applicable).
