Job Purpose:
To ensure that all products or vehicles are thoroughly inspected and meet quality standards before delivery to customers or dispatch to dealers. The PDI Inspector performs final quality checks, documents inspection results, and ensures compliance with specifications and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Visual & Functional Inspection:
- Perform thorough inspection of finished goods before delivery.
- Check for cosmetic defects, mechanical fitment, electrical function, and overall product condition.
- Ensure products match drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Testing:
- Conduct tests such as electrical continuity, fluid levels, or software settings (depending on product type).
- Validate the performance of components (e.g., lights, brakes, sensors for automotive).
- Documentation:
- Complete PDI checklists, inspection reports, and tag any non-conforming items.
- Maintain accurate records for traceability and audits.
- Coordination:
- Coordinate with production, assembly, and dispatch teams to ensure smooth workflow.
- Communicate and escalate issues to Quality or Production leads.
- Compliance & Safety:
- Follow company SOPs, ISO, or IATF standards.
- Ensure inspected units comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automotive Engineering
- 1–3 years of experience in quality or inspection roles (preferably in manufacturing/automotive)
- Knowledge of inspection tools (vernier caliper, multimeter, etc.)
- Understanding of quality control standards and PDI procedures
- Attention to detail and ability to identify defects
- Basic computer and documentation skills
