Position Description:
Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced OpenShift & Kubernetes Administrator with 5–8 years of hands-on experience in system administration on Red Hat OpenShift, both on-premises and in public cloud environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting OpenShift and Kubernetes clusters across hybrid infrastructures, ensuring high availability, security, and performance. Experience with AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service), GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine), and EKS (Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service) is essential.
Key Responsibilities and Skills Required:
- 5–8 years of experience in OpenShift and Kubernetes administration.
- Deploy, configure, and maintain Red Hat OpenShift clusters in on-premises and public cloud platforms including AKS, GKE, and EKS.
- Troubleshoot issues such as node failures, networking problems, and performance bottlenecks.
- Perform cluster maintenance: patching, configuration changes, and operator installations.
- Strong Linux administration skills.
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes networking (CNI, Calico, Flannel, MetalLB, Istio).
- Knowledge of storage solutions (Ceph, GlusterFS, NFS, EBS, Azure Disk, CSI drivers).
- Implement and enforce security best practices in Kubernetes and OpenShift.
- Manage project quotas, limit ranges, and assist application teams with resource issues.
- Perform certificate management and renewal.
- Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting solutions for cluster observability.
- Conduct daily cluster health checks and resolve issues; customize Grafana dashboards and Prometheus queries.
- Monitor cluster utilization, generate reports, and forecast capacity growth.
- Backup critical configurations and databases before maintenance.
- Plan and execute platform patching and upgrades with zero downtime.
- Customize master and node configurations post-deployment.
- Serve as first point of escalation for technical and process issues.
- Provide technical subject matter expertise and coordinate with stakeholders.
- Perform root cause analysis and trend analysis for incidents.
- Experience with Ansible, Terraform, Helm, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Automate tasks using scripting and orchestration tools.
- Automate deployment and management of containerized applications using Helm, Operators, and GitOps tools (ArgoCD, FluxCD).
- Containerize applications using Docker/Podman and manage images in registries (Quay, Harbor, ECR, GCR).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Tekton, ArgoCD).
- Collaborate with DevOps, security, and development teams for seamless orchestration.
- Certifications: CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator), OpenShift Administrator (EX280), or equivalent.
