Roles and Responsibilities of Nursing Incharge
- Patient Care Management
- Ensure quality nursing care is provided to all patients.
- Supervise and monitor patient treatment, medication administration, and recovery.
- Ensure patient safety, comfort, and hygiene standards are maintained.
- Staff Supervision & Management
- Assign duties and shifts to nursing staff.
- Monitor performance and guide junior nurses and attendants.
- Conduct regular training and skill development sessions.
- Operational & Administrative Duties
- Maintain records of patient care, medication, and staff attendance.
- Ensure availability of medical supplies, equipment, and inventory.
- Coordinate with doctors, surgeons, and other healthcare staff.
- Policy & Compliance
- Ensure all nursing practices comply with hospital policies and medical regulations.
- Maintain infection control, hygiene, and safety protocols in the ward/department.
- Communication & Coordination
- Act as a link between management, doctors, patients, and nursing staff.
- Address patient and family concerns effectively.
- Report to higher authorities regarding ward activities and issues.
- Crisis & Emergency Handling
- Lead the nursing team during medical emergencies.
- Ensure preparedness for critical situations and immediate response.
- Quality Improvement
- Regularly review nursing care standards.
- Implement improvements in patient care and staff efficiency.
