We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented NPI Quality Engineer to support the introduction of new products into manufacturing with a strong emphasis on process quality and validation. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of CNC Lathe, Sandblasting, Laser Marking, Ultrasonic Cleaning, and Tumbling processes. This role plays a critical part in ensuring robust product and process quality through the entire product development cycle—from prototype through production ramp-up.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive quality planning and risk mitigation activities for NPI projects using tools like PFMEA, Control Plans, and Process Flow Diagrams.
- Define and implement quality inspection plans and criteria for manufacturing processes including CNC machining, surface finishing, and cleaning.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, and Engineering) to ensure smooth NPI transitions.
- Conduct first article inspections (FAI) and ensure compliance to customer and engineering specifications.
- Support validation activities including IQ, OQ, PQ for new manufacturing processes.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) for any non-conformances during NPI phases.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure quality standards are understood and met during early-stage builds.
- Participate in audits and support regulatory compliance (ISO 9001 Standards).
- Provide technical support and training related to quality processes and equipment.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing).
- 5–7 years of experience in Quality Engineering, with a focus on NPI/NPD processes.
- Strong knowledge of CNC Lathe machining, Sandblasting, Laser Marking, Ultrasonic Cleaning, and Tumbling.
- Hands-on experience with GD&T, metrology tools, and CMM inspection methods.
- Proficient in quality tools: FMEA, PPAP, SPC, MSA, Root Cause Analysis.
- Effective communication, documentation, and project management skills.
- Experience working in a medical device, aerospace, or high-precision manufacturing environment.
