Job Summary
The NCC Caretaker will be responsible for the smooth functioning of NCC activities in the school, ensuring compliance with the guidelines set by the National Cadet Corps. This role involves overseeing training programs, coordinating with NCC officials, and instilling discipline, patriotism, and leadership qualities among cadets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Administration and Coordination
- Act as the liaison between the school and NCC Battalion/Group Headquarters.
- Ensure timely enrollment of students into the NCC program.
- Maintain and update NCC records, including cadet enrollments, attendance, and training schedules.
- Coordinate with the NCC officer (ANO) for implementing activities and inspections.
2. Training and Supervision
- Organize regular NCC training sessions, drills, and camps in collaboration with the ANO or military personnel.
- Assist in conducting parades, ceremonial drills, and other NCC-specific activities.
- Ensure cadets are prepared for B and C certificate exams by facilitating required training and assessments.
- Promote physical fitness, discipline, and character-building through structured activities.
3. Event Management
- Plan and execute NCC-related events such as Republic Day, Independence Day, and other national celebrations.
- Encourage cadet participation in NCC camps (Annual Training Camps, National Integration Camps, Republic Day Camps, etc.).
- Organize adventure activities like trekking, cycling, and shooting as per NCC guidelines.
4. Logistics and Resource Management
- Maintain an inventory of uniforms, equipment, and other NCC materials provided by the battalion.
- Ensure proper distribution and upkeep of NCC uniforms and accessories for cadets.
- Coordinate for transportation, lodging, and food for cadets participating in camps and external events.
5. Discipline and Leadership Development
- Foster a spirit of teamwork, discipline, and leadership among cadets.
- Counsel and guide cadets to enhance their performance and participation in NCC activities.
- Encourage participation in social service activities such as Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, tree plantation drives, and blood donation camps.
6. Compliance and Reporting
- Ensure compliance with NCC policies and directives issued by the concerned NCC unit.
- Submit monthly/annual reports on NCC activities, achievements, and cadet progress to the Principal and Battalion Headquarters.
Qualifications and Skills
Educational Qualifications:
- Graduate or Postgraduate degree from a recognized institution.
- Prior experience in the NCC or armed forces is preferred.
Skills Required:
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Physical fitness and the ability to lead by example.
- Knowledge of NCC rules, drills, and procedures.
Desirable:
- Active involvement in extracurricular activities such as sports, leadership programs, or cadet organizations.
- Basic understanding of first aid and survival skills.
