The Mother Teacher is responsible for nurturing the overall development of young learners by playing the dual role of educator and emotional anchor. This position focuses on ensuring a warm, secure, and engaging learning environment for children, especially in foundational years, while covering academic, social, and emotional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for one class for the entire academic year.
- Foster a caring and nurturing classroom environment that promotes trust and emotional well-being.
- Teach multiple subjects (English, Math, EVS, etc.) as per the school curriculum, ensuring concept clarity.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities to meet the learning needs of students.
- Conduct regular assessments and evaluations to monitor student progress.
- Communicate regularly with parents through PTMs, notes, and informal interactions to keep them updated on their child’s development.
- Create a safe and inclusive classroom culture that supports diverse learners.
- Maintain classroom discipline using positive behavior strategies.
- Collaborate with other educators and staff for events, projects, and curriculum planning.
- Ensure the physical, emotional, and social development of each child is nurtured.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and other administrative tasks.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.Ed. or equivalent) or Early Childhood Education.
- Prior experience as a Kindergarten/Primary Teacher or Mother Teacher preferred.
- Excellent command of English (spoken and written).
- Empathetic, patient, and child-centered approach.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Familiarity with play-based and activity-based learning methods.
