Job Overview:
Phoenix Greens School is seeking a knowledgeable and engaging Social Studies Teacher to teach Grades 8 and 9. The ideal candidate will be passionate about History, Civics, and Geography, and will bring subject matter expertise and dynamic teaching strategies to the classroom. A strong commitment to student learning, critical thinking, and 21st-century skills is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Social Studies curriculum (History, Geography, Civics/Economics) as per the prescribed board (CBSE/ICSE/IGCSE – specify if applicable).
- Design lesson plans and assessments that promote critical thinking, debate, research, and conceptual clarity.
- Use a variety of teaching techniques including technology integration, project-based learning, and experiential activities.
- Prepare students for internal assessments and external exams in accordance with academic standards.
- Track student progress, provide constructive feedback, and communicate regularly with parents.
- Collaborate with other subject teachers and participate in cross-curricular programs.
- Participate in faculty development, staff meetings, and school events.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in History, Political Science, Geography, or related field.
- B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education) is mandatory.
- Minimum 3–5 years of teaching experience at the middle school level.
- Strong command over English (spoken and written).
- Familiarity with modern teaching tools and digital platforms (e.g., Google Classroom, smart boards).
Preferred Qualities:
- Passionate about shaping young minds and encouraging independent thinking.
- Energetic, enthusiastic, and innovative in the classroom.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Experience in organizing debates, model UNs, or social science exhibitions is a plus.
