The primary responsibilities of a Metal Fabricator include:
- Read and understand engineering blueprints and plans to comprehend the specifications of a project
- Measure, cut, and shape metal materials according to the design
- Use specialized machinery and welding equipment for cutting and shaping
- Assemble and weld metal components to create the desired structure
- Inspect final products for quality and adherence to the specified design
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and tools to ensure safe and optimal functionality
- Maintain safety protocols to prevent workplace accidents
- Communicate and coordinate with team members and other professionals involved in the project
- Ensure the work area is clean and organized to improve efficiency and safety
- Report any issues or delays in the project to the supervisor promptly
