Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mainframe Infrastructure Administrator to manage and support our enterprise-level mainframe systems. The ideal candidate will have over 5+ years of experience in mainframe administration, infrastructure management, and system optimization, ensuring maximum performance, reliability, and security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and support mainframe infrastructure, including IBM z/OS systems and subsystems.
- Perform system IPLs, backups, disaster recovery planning, and capacity management.
- Manage RACF security, SMP/E installs, PTF maintenance, and system tuning.
- Monitor system performance and resolve infrastructure-related incidents or bottlenecks.
- Implement and manage automation tools for system monitoring and job scheduling (e.g., CA-7, Control-M).
- Collaborate with application teams, storage, and network teams to ensure system availability and efficiency.
- Maintain system documentation and procedures for audits and compliance.
- Plan and execute hardware/software upgrades and migrations with minimal downtime.
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide Level 2/3 support for critical incidents.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in Mainframe infrastructure administration.
- Strong hands-on experience with IBM z/OS, JES2/JES3, VTAM, TCP/IP, SDSF, ISPF, and TSO.
- Experience with mainframe storage management (DASD, Tape) and performance tuning.
- Proficiency in RACF security administration.
- Knowledge of system utilities like DFSMS, SMF, RMF, and other IBM mainframe tools.
- Familiarity with mainframe networking and TCP/IP configuration.
- Experience with DR drills and high availability environments.
- Scripting knowledge (REXX, CLIST, JCL) is a plus.
- Experience with ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem Management) is preferred.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- IBM or other relevant certifications are a plus (e.g., IBM Certified System Programmer, ITIL).
