Job Summary:
As a Legal Operations Associate in the Case Oversight & Administration Team (COAT), you will handle the initial assessment and management of legal cases for JPMorgan Chase. Your role involves reviewing and summarizing legal and non-legal documents, applying policies, interacting with staff, creating reports, analyzing data, and coordinating with legal colleagues in a fast-paced environment. You'll make decisions based on legal knowledge and business understanding.
Job Responsibilities:
- Accurately set up new matters in our internal matter management system, summarize allegations, categorize cases, and identify key issues.
- Learn to evaluate matters for risk related to daily operations, system failures, or other unexpected events following company standards.
- Prepare and share reports on matter data accuracy, and communicate with Attorneys and Legal professionals.
- Analyze matters submitted for closure, ensuring all information is correct and follows procedures. Learn to identify high-risk cases and trends, and promptly report them to management.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:
- Minimum 2 years of legal experience or experience in the financial industry.
- Strong in the English language
- Analytical, organizational, research, presentation, time management, and project management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:
- Familiarity with US law and regulations regarding the financial industry preferred
- Working knowledge of banking and finance is a plus
