Job Title: Lecturer in Radiology
Department: Radiology / Medical Education
Reports To: Head of Department / Dean
Job Purpose:
To deliver high-quality teaching, training, and research in Radiology, contributing to the academic and clinical development of undergraduate and postgraduate medical students while supporting departmental clinical and research activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching & Academic Duties
- Prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions in Radiology for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Develop course materials, teaching aids, and assessment tools in line with the curriculum.
- Supervise student projects, dissertations, and clinical case studies.
- Participate in curriculum development and academic planning.
- Conduct assessments, examinations, and provide constructive feedback to students.
Research & Scholarly Activities
- Engage in research activities within Radiology and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals.
- Seek external funding opportunities for research projects.
- Collaborate with colleagues on inter-disciplinary research initiatives.
Clinical & Professional Duties (if attached to a teaching hospital)
- Participate in clinical radiology services including diagnostic imaging and reporting.
- Support training of junior doctors, residents, and radiology interns.
- Contribute to quality improvement and clinical audit activities.
Administrative & Other Responsibilities
- Participate in departmental and faculty meetings, committees, and academic events.
- Assist in organizing workshops, seminars, and conferences.
- Undertake continuous professional development to keep updated with advances in Radiology.
- Support the department in accreditation and compliance requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- MBBS with MD / DNB in Radiology (or equivalent postgraduate qualification).
- Registration with the relevant Medical Council (as per national regulations).
- Teaching experience at undergraduate or postgraduate level preferred.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to research, publications, and academic growth.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary academic and clinical environment.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in digital teaching platforms and e-learning tools.
- Special interest or fellowship in subspecialties (e.g., Interventional Radiology, Neuroradiology,
