Onsite Support (Roles and responsibilities of Onsite Engineer)
The deployed engineer should be able to perform various tasks related to day to-day IT operation of the Client office.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Fortinet Firewall Management: Monitor firewall, analyze security alerts, review logs, update rules, and block Indicators of Compromise (IOCs) to maintain network security.
2. Endpoint Security & Antivirus/EDR/ SIEM Administration: Deploy, configure, and monitor EDR /Antivirus/ SIEM solutions, ensuring client systems are updated and secure.
3. Network Administration: Configure and troubleshoot switches, routers, and UTM devices. Resolve network-related issues.
4. Linux & Windows System Administration: Install, configure, and troubleshoot Linux and Windows servers, manage user accounts, file systems, backups, and performance tuning.
5. Virtualization & Hypervisor Management: Manage virtual machines (VMs) in a hypervisor environment, ensuring efficient resource allocation and system stability.
6. Cloud Services (AWS): Assist in managing cloud operations, including security monitoring, access control, and networking.
7. Backup & Recovery: Perform backup verification, disaster recovery procedures, and system failure troubleshooting as per IT policies.
8. Tally ERP Support: Troubleshoot Tally ERP-related system and network issues.
9. IT & Desktop Support: Resolve end-user system crashes, software issues, and network connectivity problems.
10. Printer & Peripheral Support: Handle basic printer troubleshooting and scanner maintenance.
11. Video Conferencing Support: Manage VC systems ensuring proper functioning for company meetings.
12. Security & Compliance: Assist in vulnerability assessments, system hardening, and implementing security policies.
13. Monitoring & Maintenance: Monitor internet leased lines, server performance, and storage utilization.
14. The onsite support resource shall be responsible for upkeep of the deployed systems in respective role which includes daily status check, configuration
verification, firmware upgrade, fault and failure handling, logging calls with OEM Limited Tender for Supply & Service of Firewall and onsite support
and follow-up, providing logs for trouble-shooting, taking recovery action including fresh installation and replacement of hardware or software etc.
15. Other than regular health check of the hardware and delivered configuration, the onsite support team shall ensure regular firmware update of the delivered
hardware with a planned calendar of update schedule. The update activity will be carried out after due approval of the User/Admin team. Vendor shall also
ensure to implement the security configuration and settings as per existing configuration and also to ensure implementation of security guideline, as per
OEM recommended guideline for newly migrated firmware version. During each firmware update cycle, vendor must make a fallback plan in case the upgrade is
not complete within scheduled time.
16. Though the roles are specific for engineers, based on requirement the residents’ engineers may need to perform overlapping roles.
Minimum Skillset Requirement –
The offered onsite resource shall have following minimum skillset
requirement criteria –
Onsite Support Bengaluru:
1) Minimum 3 years onsite experience in relevant field as specified above. Experience/ Knowledge on key responsibilities as listed above. Relevant
documents to this effect shall be submitted. Client may request for alternate support if support is found insufficient and same has to be provided.
2) Certification Required: Valid CompTIA CySA+ certification or equivalent certification in security domain. NSIL’s discretion on equivalence will be final.
