- Stay updated on algorithm changes in AI Overviews, SGE (Search Generative Experience), and similar technologies.
2. Content Optimization for AI Engines
- Optimize webpages, blogs, FAQs, and product descriptions for LLM-readability.
- Integrate structured data (schema markup) to improve interpretability by generative systems.
- Use natural language patterns that are more likely to be “quoted” or cited in AI-generated answers.
3. Prompt Engineering & Reverse Analysis
- Analyze LLM outputs to understand how prompts generate results.
- Craft hypothetical prompts that would trigger company content to appear in AI engines.
- Test and refine prompts to help improve internal AI visibility.
4. Content Creation & Collaboration
- Work with writers and SEO teams to produce content tailored for both traditional search and generative AI.
- Ensure brand voice and messaging are maintained across AI-generated summaries.
- Create and manage guidelines for AI-optimized content briefs.
5. Performance Tracking and Analytics
- Monitor traffic and visibility from generative search results.
- Use tools like GSC (Google Search Console), Bing Webmaster Tools, and custom scripts to identify trends.
- Report on GEO performance KPIs like "visibility in AI summaries", “answer inclusion rates,” and "impression share in generative outputs".
6. Competitor and SERP Intelligence
- Analyze competitors’ content presence in generative SERPs.
- Identify content gaps and opportunities to outrank or co-appear with competitors in AI answers.
7. AI Tool Integration and Automation
- Utilize AI tools (like ChatGPT, Jasper, Surfer AI, Clearscope) to enhance content ideation and creation.
- Experiment with automation to scale testing of different content variations and prompts.
8. Cross-functional Enablement
- Educate internal teams on GEO best practices.
- Coordinate with design, product, and marketing teams to align content objectives with brand strategy.
- Contribute to webinars, training, and documentation around generative SEO.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Deep understanding of SEO (technical + content).
- Familiarity with LLM behavior and prompt engineering.
