Position Title: Executive Fire & Emergency Preparedness

Reporting To: Lead Fire / Lead Safety
Position Purpose
The incumbent is ensuring requirements of effective emergency response preparedness to be fulfilled within the company. The role is to assist and advice the factory management in the fulfilment of all legal & statutory requirements of fire fighting systems & emergency response.
Strategic Responsibilities
- Assist Lead safety / Lead Fire of site in implementation of Fire & Emergency preparedness related issues at Plant level.
- Responsible for reliability & healthiness of all fire fighting equipment in the plants to maintain all equipment in ready to use condition.
- Responsible for inventory management of all fire fighting equipment & spares based on min/max strategy.
- Assist Lead safety / Lead Fire of site during an emergency & guide fire fighters/ERT members in handling any emergency at site.
- Gap assessment of existing fire fighting system of site & changes to be done as per identified gaps.
- Responsible for 100% trainings compliance for ERT members.
- Ensure compliance of relevant legal codes & standards related to fire at site.
- Having knowledge of fire fighting equipment design criteria as per relevant codes & standards applicable for chemical industries.
- Assist Lead safety / Lead Fire of site in conducting mock drills & report preparation.
Operational Responsibilities
- Monitoring for inspection and maintenance plan for all fire fighting system of plant. Ensure 100 % compliance & maintaining records.
- Advise to the concerned plants in planning and organizing measure necessary for deviations observed related to fire fighting equipment.
- Inventory management to be ensured based on min/max level & procurement to be initiated as on requirement.
- Prepare ERT members training schedule & conduct trainings as per schedule.
- Audits of all fire fighting systems of plant & necessary actions for rectification of identified deviations.
- Ensure effective monitoring of fire fighters behavior, reinforcing positive culture to enhance effective implementation of BBS Management program amongst all fire fighters.
- Performance testing of all newly installed equipment fire fighting equipment & records to be maintained.
- Advice on measures to be adopted for removing the unsafe physical conditions and preventing unsafe actions at plants.
- Ensure 100% compliance of any audit findings within time frame.
- Review drawings & design of fire fighting equipment during any new project. Ensure compliance of all relevant codes & standards in fire fighting equipment installation.

- Ensure safety & high productivity of fire fighters at the workplace.
- Educate fire fighters & ERT members on upgradation of fire fighting system.
- Conduct suitable training, TBT and educational program for the prevention of injuries during emergency response & maintenance work.
- Monitoring for PT parade & fire drills of fire fighters.
Education Qualification
B.Sc /B.E.- Fire
Work Experience
- If B.E. Fire, then 4-5 years in fire department
- If BSc, then 7-8 years in Fire department

Functional Competencies
- Knowledge of relevant codes & standards related to fire department.
- Knowledge of safety, environment and fire risk assessments
