Job Purpose
- To manage Compliance Systems and its associated processes, ensuring that the bank’s systems are effectively optimized to detect suspicious transactions and identify sanctioned individuals, to remain compliant with the relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
- Documentation – Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
- To ensure the accuracy and timely submission of reports to Senior Management.
Functional Responsibilities
- Monitor, implement, and maintain compliance systems in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Conduct ongoing performance monitoring of compliance systems to minimize false positives and ensure operational efficiency.
- Perform statistical tuning of system parameters and test them thoroughly before production deployment.
- Automate and enhance system-related processes and controls.
- Identify discrepancies within compliance systems, escalate to Senior Management, and follow up for timely resolution.
- Report daily system performance metrics to the Head of Compliance Projects, Systems & Data.
- Document and track all change requests related to operational process optimization.
- Perform tuning activities for FircoSoft modules:
- Payment Screening
- Name Screening
- FMM (Firco Filtering Manager)
- FUM (Firco User Manager)
- FFF Classic (Firco Filtering Framework)
- Conduct algorithm testing to validate detection logic and ensure optimal performance.
- Execute completeness validation checks to confirm all relevant data is screened.
- Develop and optimize screening rules while reducing false positives without compromising accuracy.
- Collaborate with Compliance and IT teams to align tuning strategies with regulations.
- Maintain documentation of tuning changes, test results, and rule updates.
- Support audits and regulatory reviews with evidence of tuning effectiveness.
Technical Expertise
- Strong hands-on experience with FircoSoft solutions (FMM, FUM, FFF Classic).
- Proficient in rule writing, syntax, logic structuring, and impact analysis.
- Deep understanding of Sanctions Screening, AML compliance, and regulatory requirements.
- Skilled in false positive analysis and reduction techniques.
- Knowledge of screening algorithms, data validation methodologies, and watchlist data (OFAC, UN, EU, etc.).
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
Strategic
- Provide real-time compliance metrics dashboards via Power BI.
- Streamline customer onboarding and monitoring processes.
- Centralize structured and unstructured compliance data for efficiency.
Regulatory
- Configure and maintain compliance systems in alignment with local and international regulatory requirements.
- Participate in regulatory audits and reviews with system-related documentation.
- Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on compliance systems and processes.
Reporting
- Conduct thematic reviews to identify gaps and recommend corrective actions.
- Deliver real-time compliance reports and dashboards.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of data incidents.
- Perform data quality assessments to support compliance operations.
Compliance & Regulation
- Recommend program improvements based on audit findings and analytics.
- Conduct periodic reviews of system logic, thresholds, and data feeds.
- Ensure systems align with the Financial Crime Compliance framework and risk appetite.
Leadership
- Establish processes for quality assurance of team outputs.
- Oversee staff productivity and ensure efficient “housekeeping.”
Interaction
Internal:
- Collaborate with Business Units to align compliance and business objectives.
- Work with IT, Data Management, and Project Management on enhancements and issue resolution.
- Coordinate with Risk, Audit, and Operations teams for effective control coverage.
External:
- Act as primary contact for regulators and external auditors.
- Manage vendor and technology partner relationships (AML/CFT systems, sanctions tools, data analytics).
- Liaise with consultants and peers for benchmarking and industry insights.

- Support strategic vision of Compliance leadership by managing day-to-day operations.
- Authorized to make operational and tactical decisions under Compliance/IT governance frameworks.
- Escalate strategic/high-risk issues to senior management.

Qualifications & Experience
- Master of Science degree.
- Minimum 13 years of experience in compliance systems.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Leadership capability to manage both onshore and offshore diverse teams.
- High technical and computing skills with expertise in sanction monitoring systems.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently or within a team, with strong attention to detail.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with data visualization tools (beyond Power BI).
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting tools/software.
- Professional certifications from Oracle University in Oracle Database.
