Job Description – Emergency Department Staff
Position Title: Emergency Staff
Department: Emergency / Casualty
Location: Malar Hospital, Hosur
Reports To: Nursing Superintendent
Job Purpose:
To provide immediate and effective care to patients in emergency and trauma situations, ensuring timely intervention and stabilization as per hospital protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first-line care to critically ill or injured patients upon arrival.
- Perform triage and prioritize treatment based on the severity of the condition.
- Administer emergency medication, IV fluids, and assist in procedures.
- Monitor vital signs and provide CPR, wound care, or life support when needed.
- Prepare and assist in minor surgical or emergency procedures.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and medical charts.
- Communicate promptly with doctors, specialists, and family members.
- Ensure availability of medical supplies and emergency kits at all times.
- Follow strict infection control and patient safety protocols.
- Work in coordination with ambulance services and other hospital departments.
Qualifications & Skills:
- GNM / B.Sc. Nursing / DMLT / Emergency Technician Certification
- 1–3 years experience in Emergency / Casualty preferred (freshers can be considered)
- Excellent decision-making and critical thinking under pressure
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Willingness to work in shifts, including night and weekend duties
- Must stay calm and professional during high-stress situations
Working Hours
- Rotational shifts / Based on hospital schedule
