Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to support our data team during a transition period. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SQL database management across both on-premises and Azure environments. You will be working closely with the Data Team Lead and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operations, performance, and reliability of our database systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, monitor, and optimize SQL databases (on-prem and Azure).
- Support migration, upgrades, and performance tuning activities.
- Implement database security, backup, and recovery strategies.
- Collaborate with the Data Team Lead and business stakeholders to ensure availability and scalability.
- Troubleshoot database-related issues and provide proactive solutions.
- Document processes and provide knowledge transfer as needed.
Required Skills:
- Proven experience in SQL Database Administration (on-prem and Azure).
- Strong knowledge of Azure SQL Database, SQL Server, and related cloud services.
- Hands-on experience in database performance tuning and optimization.
- Expertise in database backup, recovery, and security management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric.
- Familiarity with data integration and reporting tools.
- Prior consulting or transition support experience.
