The Chief Information Officer (CIO) will be responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, and management of the institution's technology infrastructure, information systems, and digital initiatives. This role ensures technology alignment with academic and administrative goals, while driving innovation, cybersecurity, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic IT Leadership
- Develop and execute a long-term IT strategy aligned with the college’s vision and mission.
- Lead digital transformation initiatives across academic, administrative, and student domains.
- Technology Infrastructure Management
- Oversee the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, upgrade, and support of all IT systems including networks, servers, databases, and security tools.
- Ensure high availability of IT services, including LMS, ERP, library systems, and exam platforms.
- Cybersecurity & Data Governance
- Develop data security policies and ensure compliance with applicable regulations (e.g., UGC, AICTE, NAAC standards).
- Safeguard student and institutional data through robust risk management protocols.
- Team & Vendor Management
- Lead and mentor IT staff; foster a high-performance, customer-focused culture.
- Manage relationships with software vendors, service providers, and digital platform partners.
- Budgeting & Resource Allocation
- Prepare and manage annual IT budgets; ensure cost-effective use of technology resources.
- Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies relevant to higher education.
- Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with academic heads, placement officers, and administrative units to streamline operations through digital tools.
- Facilitate tech-based learning environments and support hybrid or online course delivery.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science / IT / Information Systems or related field (Ph.D. preferred for academic institutions).
- Minimum 10–15 years of experience in IT leadership, with at least 5 years in an educational institution or public-sector organization.
- Proven expertise in managing ERP, LMS, campus automation, cybersecurity, and cloud platforms.
