Key Responsibilities:
- Operate cameras and other equipment during video shoots, ensuring high-quality shots are captured.
- Collaborate with directors and producers to understand the creative vision and camera requirements for each project.
- Set up and maintain cameras, lenses, tripods, and other related equipment for various types of shoots.
- Frame and compose shots according to the project’s creative vision and the director’s instructions.
- Adjust lighting and camera settings to achieve the desired visual effects, clarity, and color balance.
- Capture both wide-angle and close-up shots as required, ensuring smooth transitions and fluid motion.
- Record audio and monitor sound levels when necessary.
- Ensure the proper functioning of all camera equipment and troubleshoot technical issues when they arise.
- Assist in organizing footage and maintaining proper storage of all files and media.
- Ensure all footage is captured according to the production schedule and timeline.
- Maintain a professional attitude and strong work ethic under tight deadlines or during live events.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Cameraman, Camera Operator, or similar role in a production environment.
- Proficiency in operating professional video cameras (e.g., DSLR, RED, Sony, Canon, Arri).
- Solid understanding of camera settings, lenses, lighting, and framing techniques.
- Knowledge of video recording formats, resolutions, and compression methods.
- Ability to follow creative direction while maintaining technical expertise.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with a team.
- Ability to adapt to different filming environments, including outdoor, indoor, and on-location shoots.
- Experience with multi-camera setups is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of additional equipment like gimbals, drones, or steadicams.
- Familiarity with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro) is a plus.
- Experience in live broadcasting or sports coverage.
- Understanding of sound and lighting techniques for video production.
- A degree in Film, Video Production, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Must have bike for travel and reporting.
