We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant System Administrator to support our IT infrastructure and ensure the smooth operation of systems and networks. The role involves assisting with the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware, software, and network resources, while ensuring optimal system performance and security.
Assist in the daily monitoring and maintenance of servers, networks, and computer systems.Provide technical support to end-users (hardware, software, network, printers, etc.).
Support in installing and configuring operating systems, software applications, and updates.
Help maintain user accounts, permissions, and access rights in Active Directory or equivalent.
Assist in backup management and disaster recovery operations.
Monitor system performance and report any issues to the System Administrator.
Collaborate in implementing cybersecurity measures (patches, antivirus updates, firewalls).
Document IT procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
Support network cabling, hardware setups, and routine IT inventory management.
Escalate complex problems to the System Administrator or Senior IT staff as needed.
Send daily and weekly reports.
Address the repetitive issues smartly to avoid regular user down time.
Maintain detailed task reports and update status on weekly meetings.
Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
1-2 years of experience in IT support or system administration (internship experience acceptable).
Basic understanding of Windows/Linux server environments.
Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
Familiarity with IT support tools and ticketing systems.
Good problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or any other Linux diploma certification is an added advantage.
