Job Purpose
This role will lead & manage day-to-day regulatory related litigation matters for Vodafone Idea
Key Result Areas/Accountabilities
- Handle all Regulatory Litigations of the Company. Further, handle other litigations of the Company viz. Taxation (Property Tax, Advertisement Tax, VAT/ Sales Tax on SIMs, CENVAT deductions), Consumer appeals at NCDRC, Criminal matters etc. as instructed by the General Counsel.
- Draft and vet Petitions, legal opinion/ analysis, Appeal/ Written Submissions to be filed at DoT/ TERM Cells/ TRAI and ensure that all possible legal grounds are well taken.
- Coordinate with Advocates/ Senior Advocates and brief them with succinct brief notes/ list of dates to ensure that they are well prepared for the hearing.
- Advise and provide requisite support to Circle Legal/ Regulatory/ Nodal Teams in all legal matters/ potential legal matters, assess all types of regulatory risks and ensure all bases are covered.
- Coordinate with Circle Legal/ Regulatory/ Nodal to collate correspondences, documents from different departments required for challenging the demands raised in Circle.
- Coordinate with COAI in respect of industry related litigations and ensure that the issues of the Company are represented and raised in the industry related litigations.
- Provide regular updates on the critical Litigations of the Company along with the other matters contested by other Operators, which may have an impact on the Company through comprehensive proceeding notes.
- Maintain and share, a MIS/ Legal Report every month, containing list of all legal cases being contested/ defended by the Company alongwith critical/ related matters of other operators.

- Desired: First Class Graduation/Post Graduation in Law from reputed law school/university with minimum 2 yrs of Court practice and 8-10 years of corporate experience
- Understanding of TRAI Act, Telegraph Act, Telecom Licenses, TRAI Regulations, Directions, Tariff Orders, Employment, Contracts &Tax Laws.
