Job Title : Illustrator
Job Location : Ooty, Nilgiris (preferred) / Remote option available
We are looking for a talented 2D Illustrator who can bring Nilah’s daily life to being through warm, culturally rooted illustrations. You will work closely with our creative team to build Nilah’s world — her stories, environments, and family interactions — across picture books, comics, and digital media.
If you also have the ability to translate illustrations into 2D animation, that’s a huge plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create high-quality 2D illustrations that capture Nilah, her family, and her universe.
- Develop character poses, expressions, and environments in line with brand guidelines.
- Work on picture storybooks, comic strips, and other child-facing media.
- Collaborate with the content and media team to translate storyboards into visuals.
- Ensure consistency of Nilah’s look and feel across all platforms (print, digital, retail).
- (Bonus) Animate 2D illustrations into short animated clips, GIFs, or reels.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a 2D Illustrator, preferably in children’s content, publishing, or animation.
- Strong portfolio showcasing character design, storytelling, and warm illustration styles.
- Proficiency in tools like Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Procreate, or similar.
- (Preferred) Knowledge of After Effects, Toon Boom, or other 2D animation tools.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team.
- Passion for children’s media, cultural storytelling, and purpose-driven brands.
